CDL TRAINING

Basic CDL Training Program

Program Objective: This program is designed for individuals who have no previous tractor-trailer driving experience, prepares the student for CDL Temporary Permit Test, CDL Skills Test, and entry level employment as a driver in the trucking industry

FOUR WEEKS TOTAL TIME FOR COMPLETION (Full-Time, Days, Monday-Friday) 
NINE WEEKS TOTAL TIME FOR COMPLETION (Full-Time, Evenings & Saturday)
Curriculum  

Classroom Instruction 
Classroom Instruction consists of introducing students to the trucking industry, its regulations, laws, taxes, and standards. It prepares students for CDL Temporary Permit Test and covers a wide range of subjects to develop truck driving techniques, maneuvers, and safety awareness through instructor's presentations accompanied by video demonstrations and student discussions. 
Range Training 
Site Training consists of teaching students how to properly maintain their equipment, along with hands-on driving techniques and maneuvers introduced during classroom training. Backing maneuvers are practiced at an advanced level to better develop students’ driving skills.
Road Instruction 
City and Highway Driving enhances the students’ abilities to operate various types of equipment with different shifting patterns. Students will receive a minimum of 39 hours instruction behind the wheel on the road to ensure driving skills necessary for proficient and safe operation of a tractor-trailer.
STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A CERTIFICATE UPON GRADUATION
